Child Beyond International began as a God-sized vision to bring His love and restoration to hurting people in the world.
In 2013, an elderly couple approached Jeff Mueller, pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hood River, Oregon, to present an encouraging challenge. How could they together take the love of Christ beyond their four walls to have a positive impact on the greater world in need?
With a generous foundational gift, the couple sparked an inspiring journey to make God’s call a reality.
Over the next three years, Jeff and a group of dedicated people prayed where God might lead them. They agreed to develop a children’s ministry vulnerable children in Guatemala. Extensive research of similar ministries throughout the world prepared them with best practices to restore hurting children to a joyful, successful life.
In 2016, Child Beyond International launched with a children’s home that quickly filled with boys and girls rescued from abuse, neglect and trauma. 24-hour care provides each child’s essential needs of meals, clothing, medical care and counseling support, plus the warm, loving embrace of people they can trust.
Best of all, each child is surrounded by experiences of God’s love and introduced to the healing power of a relationship with Jesus.
